BCSF’s GOT TALENT: Saturday, August 14 at 8 PM ET

Let’s show off our talents and skills in this heavenly arena of competition! All are welcome to enter and attend.

First place will win $300, second place $200, and third place $100!

What you can submit:

• A musical performance

• A poetry reading or slam poetry

• A short film

General Guidelines:

1. You must be registered for BCSF 2021 before you can submit to BCSF’s Got Talent. You can register here: bcsfusa.com/register

2. Please practice and prepare an act under 5 minutes. We will not accept an act if it is over the time limit.

3. We only have 15-20 available slots due to time constraints, so the BCSF Talent Show core team will be conducting a pre-screening process. Everyone has a chance to enter the talent show if you submit by the deadline, but we will be selecting all submissions to be featured competitively at the main event!

4. Read through all the instructions on how to record your act below.

5. Submit before the submission deadline.

6. We want to cultivate a heavenly culture of heart! The use of inappropriate language, images, or subject matter in your act as determined by our staff will automatically disqualify your submission.

How to Record:

1. If your act includes sound (music, poetry, rap), please consider using or borrowing an external microphone to record. An easy and inexpensive but decent option is the Blue Yeti USB microphone or the iRig Microphone for Apple products.

   • This is not required; you may record simply with a smartphone. We will judge on the quality of the performance, not the video or audio quality, but it will certainly help in the overall enjoyment of the performance if you have a decent recording.

   • Be sure you record in a room with no background noise.

2. Your act must include a video (we will not be accepting audio-only submissions).

   • Most acts will simply be videos of the performance.

     • Record during the daytime so that the lighting is nice.

     • Be sure to consider your backdrop.

     • If you use your phone, record landscape.

     • Be sure you are looking at the camera and engaging the "audience" as much as possible!

   • If your creative field is filmography, you may submit a film or video based on that (as long as it fits the criteria of under 5 minutes).

   • If you are submitting visual art, please add some background music.

3. Please review the recording before submitting to see if it’s the version you want to send, that there are no technological malfunctions, etc.

4. Submit with the button below. You must include:

   1. Full name(s) of performer(s)

   2. Your email

   3. Where you are from

   4. A fun fact about yourself

   5. A short description of your act and anything you’d like us to know

   6. The file link (sent separately to infobcsf@gmail.com through Google Drive, DropBox, or Wetransfer.com)

      • *Be sure that the permissions are changed to “Anyone with the link” if using Google Drive.

How to Win:

1. On Saturday, August 14th at 8 PM EST (5 PM PT), we will be hosting the 2021 BCSF’s Got Talent! Although this is virtual, please be present at the event! You’ll be able to vote and see all the other acts, and we will be announcing the winners at the end.

2. We will be judging the acts in two ways:

   • a text-to-vote system with the audience

   • a core panel of judges who will make the final votes

3. We will contact the winners after the event to send them their cash prizes. First place will receive $300, second place will receive $200, and third place will receive $100. Good luck!
